Week 4: Identifying Feelings & Strategies for Coping with Unpleasant Feelings

Week 5: Changing Behavior & Problem Solving

Week 6: Self-Care, Self-Forgiveness, and Having a Positive Mindset

 

1) Social Activity

 

These activities provide the kids with social interaction and a chance to bond with one another.
Examples: icebreakers, Kahoots, charades, talent shows, etc.

2) Mindfulness Exercise

 

The goal of these exercises is to transition from the social activity into the presentation portion of the session. Mindfulness helps bring awareness to feelings and encourage greater focus + attentiveness.

Examples: breathing, meditation, etc.

3) Awareness Activites

 

The coach will present on various CBT techniques in order to get the students more aware of the interactions between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.  

4) Sensory Activity

 

This is typically a physical activity; it encourages development of motor skills and refines the children’s ability to follow instructions.

Examples: stretching, yoga, etc.

5) Debrief

 

During this time, the coach will summarize the day’s main points, discuss takeaways, answer questions, give out homework reminders, etc.
